Bosphorus Cymbals is a manufacturer of high-end handcrafted cymbals, founded in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1996 by three master smiths: Hasan Seker, Ibrahim Yakici, and Hasan Ozdemir. The brand is world-renowned for preserving traditional Turkish craftsmanship, with cymbals crafted 100% by hand using traditional B20 bronze alloy casting and hand-hammering. Compared to other historic brands, Bosphorus stands out for its generally darker, warmer, smoother, and more nuanced (washed) sound, qualities that make them highly sought-after in musical genres such as jazz, blues, fusion, and acoustic.
